Janet Canepa '82 to Receive Distinguished Faculty/Administrator Award, April 3

Continuing the tradition of recognizing professional excellence at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓÆµÍøÕ¾ University, this year’s Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓÆµÍøÕ¾ Awards Dinner will honor Janet Canepa '82 for her exemplary achievements in alumni relations on April 3 at Cipriani 42nd Street.

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓÆµÍøÕ¾ University will honor Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations Janet Canepa ’82 with the Distinguished Faculty/Administrator Award during this year’s Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓÆµÍøÕ¾ Awards Dinner on Wednesday, April 3 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.

A marketing major at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓÆµÍøÕ¾, Canepa worked as a program manager at IBM for more than 12 years before returning to her alma mater to lead Alumni Relations efforts. As an undergraduate, she served as a resident advisor, an Admission tour guide, played club sports, and was awarded the prestigious Loyola Medal for engagement and service. After graduation, she joined the Alumni Association board, serving as her class reunion co-chair. In 1992, she became the first female president of the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓÆµÍøÕ¾ University Alumni Association.

Canepa remains committed to fostering deep relationships with generations of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓÆµÍøÕ¾ alumni in her role as assistant vice president of Alumni Relations. She notes that the University has grown and changed over the years, but “the bond that Stags share and their loyalty to Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓÆµÍøÕ¾ has not changed.” Read more about Canepa’s commitment to Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓÆµÍøÕ¾ University.

Since 1988, the annual Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓÆµÍøÕ¾ Awards Dinner has raised more than $21 million for the Alumni Multicultural Scholarship Fund and other scholarships while celebrating the achievements and volunteer service of distinguished members of the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓÆµÍøÕ¾ community.
